Sooo- believe it or not I went surfing in the winter!!! Rented surf gear (weatsuit, hood, boots, and a board) for $32 NZ dollars. Although I was worried that I might be freezing surfing in freezing cold water, in below 10 degree Celsius weather, it was surprisingly the WARMEST I've been since arriving in Dunedin! Except for the second day... where I was really cold. Day 1 we surfed until sunset, and Day 2 we set out for a mid-day surf.
The good news is that on the surf day 2 I managed to actually stand on the board. Super exciting!
I hope to surf again soon :)
