Aramawana

Aramawona is a town about 20 minutes (drive) from Dunedin.  It was also the site of New Zealand largest mass murder in 1990.  I believe it was approximately 13 innocent people were killed as a result of a terrible rampage of one man.  It's strange to visit a the spot of such an awful event and notice it's beauty... but I guess in a place like NZ beauty is everywhere and it's difficult to avoid.

 

 

Aramawona is also across from where the Royal Albatross live, and I'm pretty sure I saw some flying in the air... although they seemed to be smaller than I would have expected...
