The Catlins

The Catlins is at the very Southern tip of the South Island of New Zealand.  It's seemingly uninhabited with beautiful waterfalls and, of course, breathtaking landscapes.  We spent one Friday venturing down to the Catlins (about a 2 hours drive each way).  Unfortunately, the weather was rather gloomy, but we saw some good sights anyhow.

Some strange form of seaweed!!!

This is what they named the "Niagara Falls"

This waterfall was a treat because the track was closed due to some landslide.  We decided to go on the track anyhow and it seemed quite safe to us!!!  I was a bit nervous and voted not to go, but... then I gave in and went anyhow, and I'm happy I did!!!
